Family portraits

The way they are now, before everything changes again.

Warm, natural family photography built around connection rather than performance. For new chapters, growing children, extended families and the ordinary closeness that deserves to be remembered beautifully.

More than everybody looking at the camera

A family session should feel like time together, not a test of everybody’s patience.

Jade creates a loose structure, then lets the people inside it be themselves. Children can move. Personalities can show. The quiet moments matter as much as the obvious ones. The result is a gallery with range: elegant portraits for the wall, intimate details for an album and the fleeting expressions no one could have planned.

The experience

Relaxed enough for children. Refined enough to become part of your home.

Before the session

We talk through who will be there, the ages and personalities involved, what you hope the photographs will hold and where the images may eventually live. Jade advises on location, timing and clothing, then sends a simple preparation guide so nobody has to arrive guessing.

During the session

Sessions unfold at a calm pace. Jade begins with easy movement and familiar interaction before gently shaping more considered portraits. There is no pressure for children to behave like tiny corporate executives. Curiosity, energy and shyness are all allowed into the story.

Afterwards

Your photographs are individually edited and delivered in a private online gallery. High-resolution files are ready for printing, with web-sized versions for sharing. Guidance is available for albums, framed prints and larger wall pieces.

Good to know

The questions families usually ask after booking.

What should we wear?

Choose tones that belong together rather than identical outfits. Texture photographs beautifully. Large logos and sharp neon colours tend to pull attention away from faces. Jade will review options when helpful.

What if the children do not cooperate?

They do not need to. The session is designed around real children, not perfect behaviour. Breaks, movement and a change of pace are part of the process.

Can extended family join?

Yes. Extended-family sessions are carefully planned so the final gallery includes the complete group, smaller family units, grandparents, siblings and the relationships between them.

Where do sessions take place?

At home, outdoors or in a chosen location that means something to you. The best setting is not always the grandest. It is the one where your family can settle into itself.
